Republican Congressional candidate Michael Waltz on Thursday announced the endorsements of two law-enforcement officials.
“Michael has served us with courage and valor on the battlefield and knows what it takes to keep us safe,” said Daytona Beach Police Chief Craig Capri.
Waltz also announced the support of Duval County Sheriff Mike Williams. Waltz, of St. Augustine Beach, is running in Congressional District 6, which includes all of Volusia and Flagler counties, plus parts of Lake and St. Johns counties.
Waltz, a global defense and intelligence analyst, is a former Army Green Beret lieutenant colonel, former Fox News contributor and has Pentagon and White House credentials. He is among five Republicans in the field, including Fred Costello, Jimmy Johns, Jeremy Kelly and John Ward, while Bob Coffman, Stephen Sevigny, Nancy Soderberg and John Upchurch are running in the Democratic primary.
